ATLANTA, GA (February 12, 2019)- Benson Integrated Marketing Solutions, the multifamily industry’s first and largest centralized marketing platform (CMP), has donated over 1,100 pieces of apparel to the Gateway Center, a metro Atlanta homeless shelter, as a part of the company’s “Do Good” philanthropy and its goal of a waste-free apparel program. This donation represents the company’s latest quarterly apparel donation.
Have You Ever Thought About What Happens to Your Returned Apparel?
Many apartment management companies may never consider what happens to their returned apparel. Benson services over two million apartment units across many companies, each with specific product lines unique to them, including customized apparel. In 2018, Benson processed tens of thousands of apparel orders. Benson apparel lines are used for uniforms, corporate programs, employee stores, employee and investor gifts, property marketing, and more. Common practices that drive apparel returns include:
- Company rebrands or name changes
- Client product line selection changes
- Product size exchanges
- Discontinued items
- Employee turnover
- Company or portfolio mergers, sales, or transitions
Benson clients enjoy an “any reason,” flexible return and exchange policy, full-service rebrand support, on-hand inventory for quick shipments, and high-quality standards against minor damages. If clients are not satisfied for any reason, they can return their order for an exchange or account credit of the original purchase price. Guaranteed.
Industry-Leading Apparel Donation Program
Benson is pleased to help our clients and local communities by offering an industry-leading clothing donation program. Although donating products as-is would be simple, it could expose clients to risk if their logoed apparel were available to the public, making this apparel donation program unique. For the past five years, Benson has donated thousands of pieces of apparel every quarter to organizations like the Salvation Army, Goodwill, local orphanages, and homeless shelters, while protecting its customers.
Here’s How it Works:
Benson and its clients are in the apartment business, which is a business about people helping people. No client will ever pay for patches, labor, shipping fees, or the inventory required to be on-hand to support the platform’s customer-centric approach. Benson offers this charitable service at their own cost on behalf of their client partners. This allows clients to rest easy knowing their apparel inventory is in the best of hands and will continue to “Do Good” long after they have moved on.
How You Can “Do Good” Too
Benson can also serve as a facilitator for apartment management companies looking to make donations of pre-purchased new or gently-used inventory that they no longer want or need.
In October 2018, Pegasus Residential, a leading third-party apartment management firm also based in Alpharetta, GA, took the program a step further and partnered with Benson to make an additional donation from their company’s gently used and unneeded apparel collection. At Pegasus’ request, Benson facilitated the donation, including the pick up, logo replacement, storage, and delivery of hundreds of shirts and jackets valued at almost $10,000. Pegasus has a passion for giving back and helping local communities through their philanthropic platform, Pegasus Gives. “We are thrilled to have Benson work with us on up-cycling our slightly worn apparel items to help those in need. As a company, we typically work with organizations that support animals such as the ASPCA. Having Benson and their connections was extremely helpful when looking for organizations to donate our apparel items,” said Bevan White, Vice President of Marketing at Pegasus Residential.
Benson customers can continue to enjoy the benefits of their centralized marketing store, now with the added perk of knowing their apparel is being used for good. “Benson aims to simplify the apartment marketing procurement process. Inventory management is a big part of creating an offering our clients cannot find anywhere else, but running an efficient platform doesn’t have to be wasteful,” said Brian Benson, CEO of Benson Integrated Marketing Solutions. “We’re grateful to be in a position to help our local community and to honor the commitment to our ‘Do Good’ philanthropy program.”
