Benson Awarded G7® Master Qualification Status for Third Consecutive Year

ATLANTA, GA (October 2, 2018)- Benson Integrated Marketing Solutions, the multifamily industry’s first and largest Centralized Marketing Platform (CMP), was awarded the G7® Master Facility Qualification for the third consecutive year by Idealliance®, the global leader in print process specifications.

Benson has invested over three million dollars into state-of-the-art technology located at their 110,000 square foot facility in Alpharetta, Georgia.  This certification is one more way Benson provides the highest quality and most powerful integrated marketing platform in the multifamily industry.

WHAT IS G7
G7 is the industry-leading set of specifications for achieving gray balance and is the driving force for achieving visual similarity across all print processes and systems.  Idealliance certifies the industry’s most knowledgeable experts to qualify leading providers of print, creative, and prepress services in the G7 methodology. The G7 method outlines a recipe for implementing ISO printing standards and additional metrics.  It raises the bar on color matching performance and guarantees that customers are working with only the best printers in the marketplace.

Gray balance is a powerful tool for managing print consistency and the result is a simple but powerful way to match from proof to press and achieve balanced color. The name “G7” stands for “gray,” plus the seven primary and secondary solid ink values: cyan, magenta, yellow, black, red, green, and blue.

WHY IT MATTERS
This certification is important because it ensures consistent reproduction of design and color across marketing collateral, packaging, and signage, regardless of the inks or substrates used. Benson clients can rest easy knowing their brand is in good hands and is monitored against the highest color standards.

Facilities that carry that G7 Master Qualification status are:

  • Skilled, tested, certified, and proven to be a leader in print production
  • Know the fields of color management, process, and quality control for proofing and printing across multiple devices and with any process, ink, or substrate
  • Work to reduce costs, improve turn time, and enhance brand consistency

HOW THE CERTIFICATION PROCESS WORKS
The G7 Master Qualification is granted to a physical facility. G7 Master Status indicates that the facility has calibrated certain equipment and systems to G7 gray balance and neutral tone curves and can deliver G7 proofs and print products.

In addition to being one of the few printers in the world that achieve this certification, Benson is among an elite group that also boasts a full-time, in-house G7 Expert on staff.  This certified expert conducts G7 staff training, as well as calibrates the presses and other printers at Benson. The calibration process involves special print targets, color measurement devices, and software to achieve a passing G7 qualification.

An application was submitted to Idealliance and after review by the color reproduction experts at the Rochester Institute of Technology, the qualification was awarded in September 2018.  The qualification is good for one year and the company must be recertified to achieve the status again in the future.

BENSON’S QUALITY COMMITMENT
“We are committed to the highest quality color standards and are proud to achieve this qualification again this year,” said Brian Benson, CEO of Benson Integrated Marketing Solutions. “There are a lot of print options in multifamily today, but there are very few facilities that are truly qualified to be guardians of someone else’s brand.  It is a big responsibility and we always want to treat our client’s brand with the attention to detail that it deserves.”

“We applaud Benson for utilizing the G7 Master Program to assure consistency and quality in their proofing, brand color management, and print processes,” commented Timothy Baechle, Vice President of Global Print Technologies and Workflows for Idealliance.  “G7 Master Qualification demonstrates a level of control and expertise that places Benson at the top of their field.  We applaud their leadership commitment and support of the G7 Master Qualification Program.”
